Did you know that I’m officially an Aurifil Designer for 2015? No, of course you didn’t, because I’ve been pretty quiet for a while. But now is the time to shout it from the rafters, and introduce you to the talented designers who are on the team as well.
First off, I’m a HUGE fan of Aurifil thread, and it’s pretty much the only thread I use for piecing. My favorite thread is the 50wt Cotton Mako thread, and I go through thousands of yards of it each year. I recommend the thread to my students & fans and try to encourage people to use the best tools for the job, no matter what they are doing. This year, I was selected as an Aurifil Designer, which was pretty exciting!
Each month, there’s a new designer, and I’m queued up for July. As part of the team, I’ll be designing a FREE mini quilt pattern, and you’ll also be able to get mini quilt patterns from each of the 11 other designers in the program this year.
Since it’s already April and I’m behind 3 designers, I’ll just introduce you to all three of them here, and then I’ll queue up the rest of us to post each month in their own post. I am sorry to have gotten behind, but better late than never, yes?
As you meet each designer, I’ll point you over to their blogs where you can get their patterns, learn more about them, and then you may also have chances to enter prize giveaways and such. Pat Sloan gives away an Aurifil Thread Box every month, so there’s a chance for you to get your hands on some fabulous thread too. So without further ado, here are your designers for January, February, and March.
January: Gudrun Erla
February: Joanna Figueroa
March: Kimberly Jolly
