I’m teaching once again at International Quilt Festival in Houston, TX this fall. I’m so excited to bring you a mix of brand-new classes and popular favorites! The best part of all? I learned that my lecture will be available via live stream!
Business Classes at Quilt Market
First up, I’m teaching business seminars at Market! This will be my second Market venturing into the business area. So far my lectures have been well received, and I’ve been turning them into online classes for further learning for those who are interested. If you want to sign up for Market classes, visit the Quilts Inc. site for more details.
Don’t Plan to Fail by Failing To Plan Your Business
Saturday October 28th, 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
So many people – myself included – fall into business accidentally. Things go okay until it’s time to do the paperwork, and then it’s easy to get overwhelmed. It’s not super-sexy to actually write down what you want from your business or research the things you need to know, but if you want your business to be profitable, you need to plan to be so from the beginning.
Obviously I can’t cover everything about business planning in one hour, but hopefully this gives you enough of a push to take the time to plan your business for success.
Independent Publishing—From Idea to Book in Six Months or Less!
Sunday October 29th, 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.
You have a book inside you, and it is dying to come out. You can feel it bubbling up inside, just waiting for the right moment, the right opportunity, the right time. If you have an idea for a book, there is nothing, absolutely nothing, stopping you from publishing it. All you need is time and a plan.
The publishing industry has changed so much – even in just the past 5 years – that you no longer need a middle man between you and your audience.
(Incidentally, if you don’t want to wait until the fall for this lecture, you can sign up for my Book Camp now – we start on August 24th!)
Quilt Classes at Quilt Festival
Without skipping a beat or even taking a break for a day, I’ll be ready for my regular classes at Festival. This time, my classes are front-loaded so we can all enjoy the vendor mall and the quilt exhibits when the show floor officially opens! If you want to sign up for classes at Festival, visit the Quilts Inc. site for more details.

Which of my classes will you be taking? What classes would you like to see me introduce?
